Position Overview, Architectural Designer I

Assists with the preparation of architectural presentations and production drawings, as well as participates in design studies and evaluation of design proposals under the direction of the Senior Designer or Project Architect.  Requires minimum three years experience.

3 - 5 years experience preferred 

This position will work with our Culver City and Santa Barbara, CA studios but can be done remotely while our offices maintain limited occupancy due to COVID-19. 


  • Work with Senior Designer, Project Architect or Senior Design Manager on conceptual designs, presentations and production.
  • Compile project data and research; perform routine to moderately complex code specific calculations.
  • Knowledge of design process and building codes.  Assist with management of design process.
  • Produce graphic presentations, 3D renderings, physical models and presentation drawings as project requires.
  • Resolve design issues with creative and practical solutions; prepare complete designs from general drawings and instructions.
  • Assist with coordination of consultants, fabricators, vendors and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives.
  • Perform architectural drafting as directed by Senior Designer or Project Architect in accordance with company standards.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives and programs.

Skills / Requirements

  •  3 - 5 years of experience on architecture projects
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve both individually and as part of a project team.
  • Proficiency in the use of 2D/3D software, including Revit, AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, Sketchup, Photoshop, Rhino, and InDesign. 
  • Fair understanding of materials and construction techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work on multiple or fast paced projects.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
