Project Architect

Greenleaf Lawson Architects is currently seeking a full-time Project Architect to join our downtown Covington, Louisiana office.  Covington is just north of New Orleans, across Lake Pontchartrain.  The historic district that is downtown is all about food, culture, and enjoying life. Art galleries, boutiques, quirky shops, antiques, and more than two dozen restaurants make Covington a great place to live and work. 

The candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, with Revit experience and proven experience in all phases of the design process.  Architectural license and commercial experience preferred.

The Project Architect shall operate with effective communication and interpersonal skills, in addition to excellent organizational and time-management skills. A collaborative team player, the Project Architect will prepare presentations and documents reflective of Greenleaf Lawson standards. Excellent digital and verbal communication are vital, as well as being a diligent, independent, and creative-minded problem solver. This person must be able to manage their tasks, projects, support staff, and consultants accordingly. The Project Architect is responsible for producing conceptual documents throughout schematic design and design development, transition into construction documents with technical accuracy, and maintain code compliance throughout all phases. A relationship-oriented approach during construction is preferred.

Required Skill Sets

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of design, structures, appropriate product application, building codes, construction, and cost.
• Strong skills in Revit 2021, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Enscape, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Superior understanding of construction document content and preparation.
• Ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
• Supreme time management and multi-tasking capabilities.
• Results-oriented and solution-focused.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills including the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet changing deadlines.
• The ideal candidate will enjoy the opportunity of getting to know their clients as a personal and operational business.
• Excellent & effective collaboration ability within the architectural studio.
• Must be flexible enough to be a support person and act as a team lead as required by different projects.
• Proven ability to identify, solve problems and resolve conflicts.
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills.
• Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
