Hernandez-Eli Architecture (HE) is an award-winning, New York City-based architecture firm with a diverse portfolio of work spanning residential, commercial, hospitality, institutional and public projects. 

HE is seeking a full-time Project Leader. This position reports directly to the founding-principal. The Project Leader shall oversee all aspects of the project, from design through construction. The right candidate has strong technical interest and knowledge, experience putting together drawing sets, millwork shop experience (or even shop drawing drafting experience), as well as a strong design sensibility. The ideal candidate is based in New York. 

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Degree in Architecture, preferably Masters Degree 

  • 3-5 years of experience in all phases of Architectural design and construction.

  • Strong grasp of architectural technical detailing, construction, and fabrication techniques.

  • Experience coordinating multiple trades (structural, MEP, lighting consultants, etc)

  • Experience interfacing with contractors in the Construction Administration process, including submittal and shop drawing review

  • Knowledge of NYC Building Codes, and the NYC approvals process

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Rhino, Rendering, Adobe Creative Suite

About Hernandez-Eli Architecture   

HE was founded in 2011. The work of the office spans ground-up houses located across the United States, multi-unit developments in New York City, a six-story restaurant (currently in construction), apartment redesigns and renovations, and other experimental projects. 

HE is led by founding principal Juliet Hernandez-Eli. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Princeton University and a Master in Architecture from Harvard University. She has taught at Harvard University, Pratt Institute, and Boston Architectural College; she was recently named a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at UC Berkeley. Her work has been published in the Wall Street Journal, Boston Architecture Magazine as well as books by Princeton Architecture Press and Actar Publishing.
