About the Role

HealthQuarters’ Project Designer is responsible for developing and continually evolving the brand design standards across new flagship locations.  An ideal candidate marries a clean, contemporary design aesthetic with a mindset towards cost-conscious, scalable execution.  This individual should be incredibly thoughtful about the customer journey, considering the overall atmosphere of our spaces, down to smallest details which set our brand apart.  The Project Designer will be equally responsible for the standardization of replicable elements and the creation of bespoke, architecturally compelling moments.  This role incorporates inputs from the Operations, Marketing and Finance teams - ensuring that our sites are seamlessly operated by our field teams, serve as a terrific expression of our brand, and adhere to CapEx targets.  


  • Create due diligence test-fits for potential new locations

  • Assist in the development of architectural brand standards, including millwork details, finishes, fixtures and replicable architectural elements

  • Create architectural mood boards and site-level concept narratives

  • Develop Design Development-level drawing packs for new locations, including architectural elevations, plans, schedules and pertinent details

  • Work collaboratively with the Project Management team to develop site-level budgets and schedules

  • Create presentations and renderings which illustrate overall look and feel, for internal and external use

  • Work closely with the Procurement and Project Management Teams through the development of fabricated and purchased FF&E elements

  • Collaborate with Architect of Record and Project Management Team to ensure original design intent is carried through to execution

  • Maintain a brand finishes library, and continually seek out new and innovative products, finishes and technologies

  • Conduct operational and executional post-mortems to ensure each new location is better than the last


  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or interior design

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management with background in retail and/or healthcare rollout

  • Innovative and eager to explore and define the future of health and wellness environments

  • Ability to effectively communicate creative concepts in media ranging from napkin sketches to polished renderings

  • Flexible, with minimal design ego - able to  think of yourself as a service provider to Operations and Marketing teams

  • Experience managing multiple, fast-track projects simultaneously 

  • Familiarity with New York City building codes and permitting 

  • Deep understanding of finishes, fixtures and their associated suppliers/fabricators

  • A practical understanding of the costs associated with design decisions

  • Ruthlessly organized, but able to make spur of the moment decisions, as needed

  • Fluent in AutoCAD, REVIT, Sketchup, Blender/Maxwell/VRAY, ProCore, SmartSheet and Excel.
