About the Role

HealthQuarters’ Construction Project Manager is responsible for orchestrating the execution of our flagship locations.  This individual will identify and manage a team of third party contractors (architects, engineers, expediters, etc), as well as fabricators, contractors and suppliers - through fast paced, programatically complex, high profile projects.  The Construction Project Manager is responsible for developing and adhering to project schedules and budgets, with collaborative input from HealthQuarters’ Legal, Operations, Procurement and fellow Development team members.  This individual should be highly organized and analytical - evaluating the successes and learnings from each project, with an eye towards optimizing and improving execution with each new location.


  • Assemble and manage project teams through all phases of the project, including pre-construction, construction, closeout and post-construction evaluations

  • Develop and manage thorough construction budgets, leveraging historical data and estimating experience

  • Jointly establish construction schedules with construction partners and third party vendors

  • Work closely with the Procurement Team member through the development and delivery of fabricated and purchased FF&E elements

  • Conduct due diligence walkthroughs/reports on new sites, helping to establish lease work letters and determine overall site viability

  • Conduct General Contractor and vendor bidding process, including RFI’s, bid leveling and contracting (with assistance from HQ Legal)

  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time and budget and collaboratively problem-solve project-related issues as they arise

  • Work closely with the Design Team to develop a product that is thoughtfully designed and easily executable

  • Assess construction and permitting risk factors, including associated timing and cost implications

  • Conduct quality control walkthroughs and site coordination meetings, as needed

  • Issue comprehensive weekly progress reports to key internal and external stakeholders

  • Develop and nurture relationships with strategic partners, including contractors, suppliers, Landlords and property managers

  • Take ownership for a formal HOTO (Handover to Operations)

  • Responsible for building punch list within 48 hours of site launch and completion of the same in 15 days


  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, project management, construction management or engineering

  • 5+ years of experience in construction project management with background in retail and/or healthcare rollout

  • Experience managing multiple, fast-track projects simultaneously 

  • Familiarity with New York City building codes and permitting 

  • Equipped with a wide network of general contractors, suppliers and fabricators

  • Strong negotiation skills based in a foundational understanding of construction estimating

  • Extensive experience developing and maintaining project budgets and schedules

  • Ruthlessly organized, but able to make spur of the moment decisions, as needed

  • Design-minded - able to make field-decisions informed by brand and the HealthQuarters aesthetic

  • Fluent in AutoCAD, ProCore, SmartSheet and Excel.
