Tinkelman Architecture is a small, established, and dynamic design-oriented architecture firm of 9 people located in the Hudson Valley, New York. In addition to the traditional tools of the architecture profession, our office explores the use of Virtual Reality (VR) and how fully interactive three-dimensional environments enhance the client’s experience of our designs. This will allow the client to participate in the design process. We are looking to grow our team and with a variety of projects ranging in size from small retail spaces to midsize multi-family mixed use buildings there is potential for individual professional growth. As a small firm everyone participates and collaborates in all aspects of the projects and office management. The exchange of ideas and knowledge is paramount to our office culture and everyone actively participates in the exchange of knowledge.

The ideal candidate will have 5-6 years of experience in an architecture office and have a positive outlook. You will also have good communication skills. The candidate will have a License to practice architecture in the State of New York and/or New Jersey or be in the process of licensure. You are a highly motivated and detail oriented individual. You are also a self-starter who is willing to actively participate in a collaborative work environment. Finally, you enjoy learning new skills, as well as, imparting new information to the project team.

Tasks include:

  1. Working with the Principal/Owner to develop designs and concepts.

  2. Conduct existing conditions surveys and prepare existing conditions drawings.

  3. Develop sketches into SD and DD Phases of the project.

  4. Assist in project management of various size Projects.

  5. Create/Develop 3-D visualization models of Projects.

  6. Prepare Zoning Code analysis and review of Projects.

  7. Assist in the preparation of planning board applications and submissions.

  8. Prepare analysis and review project compliance to the NYS Building Code and ADA code.

  9. Attend client meetings and serve as the point of contact with the client when required.

  10. Construction Documents preparation.

  11. Assist in Shop Drawing review and help to insure adherence to the project design.

Computer Skills and Software:

  1. Proficiency in Revit 2019

  2.  Knowledge of Enscape

  3. Proficiency on AutoCad 2018

  4. Microsoft Office

  5. Excel

  6. Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign)

  7. Knowledge of VR is a plus

  8. Blue Beam Revu is a plus
