Evelyn Pierce Design Studio, LLC is a boutique design group specializing in residential architecture and interior design in the District of Columbia Metropolitan Region. This small, collaborative team of women is seeking a Staff Architect/Draftsperson to assist our team with drafting in AutoCAD LT.
We are looking for an enthusiastic team member with 3+ years of residential architectural experience, who is excited by residential architecture and is willing to take on any task. We also handle interior design and staging (assembling, moving, and installing furniture) and expect the new team member to be involved with this.
We are still working from our homes but will also need the person willing to go to job sites or into the office a few days a week depending on the schedule. Additionally, we need this person to be able to dedicate 20 hours per week with consistent time blocks, ideally 4 hours per day.
Our service is highly tailored to create a richly personal and curated residence for the client. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work remotely and independently (with direction/guidance from others) in providing drawing support, and be efficient, detail oriented, tenacious, and professional. Site visits in DC and close-in suburbs are required.

- 3+ yrs architectural experience
- Available 3-4 hrs per day, during normal business hours
- Local to DC metro area - WFH with ability to make site visits
- Own vehicle/reliable transportation
- 2D AutoCAD LT proficiency
- Initiative/self-starter
- Permit drawing experience - please provide a drawing set for review
- DC experience desirable
- Residential design experience a must
- Timely/efficient
- Critical thinking ability
- Understanding of architecture/construction industry terminology

Primary responsibilities:
- Drafting in 2D AutoCAD LT in all phases of design - will be tested
- Field measurement
- Draw plans from survey/field measurements
- Site meetings, including writing meeting notes
- Schematic Design
- Design Development
- Permit drawings
- Permit application & submittal
- Construction Documentation
- Construction Administration

Secondary responsibilities:
- Product/finish research and specification
- Ordering material samples
- Occasional assistance with staging (assembling, moving, and installing furniture)

Work hours & location:
- JOB TYPE: Part-time, Employee
- Part time, 15-20 hrs/week
- Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm (including 1-hour lunch break), though some evenings and weekends will occasionally be required
- Remote during COVID: drafting, sourcing work to be done at home. Site visits and some in-office work will be required.
- Post-COVID: in Vienna, VA office and/or owner’s home office in Washington, DC
- Candidate must have own reliable transportation and valid US driver’s license.
Salary and Benefits:

- PAY: $20-22/hr
