We are a medium size architectural firm located in the beautiful lower Hudson Valley that specializes in healthcare projects. We have an opportunity for a talented and diligent professional who is seeking a challenging and rewarding experience to work in our Newburgh office.  This is NOT a remote position.  Our projects range in size from small physician suites to hospital master planning.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform architectural assignments under the supervision of principal and senior project managers and assistant project managers
  • Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents drafting work on projects of various size and complexity
  • Perform site surveys and develop existing conditions plans and demolition plans on projects ranging in size up to 2,000,000 sf.
  • Assist in maintaining and utilization of office drafting standards
  • Ability to meet project schedules 

Description:

  • AutoCAD production is the primary responsibility of this position. Experience in architectural design, detailing and construction documents is required
  • Being a passionate an enthusiastic individual is a key factor
  • Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet strict deadlines
  • Candidates must be able to understand design drawings and intent such that they are able to incorporate design intent into construction documents
  • Strong engineering (MEP) background is valuable although not required
  • Understanding of Building Codes and Construction Standards of Care
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Detail oriented
  • Develop architectural floor plans, ceiling plans, elevations, sections and details using AutoCAD

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of six years of experience in construction documents with preference given to those who have at least two years of experience creating construction documents in an architectural firm
  • Associates degree minimum, Bachelor of Architecture preferred
  • A minimum of three years of professional proficiency in AutoCAD
  • SketchUp proficiency is a plus
