About the Role:

O2 Design, an award-winning and innovative interior design firm located in Lambertville, NJ. O2 Design is looking for a full or part-time Interior Designer/AutoCAD Technician with at least 5 years of experience working at an interior design or architecture firm.  This position requires proficiency in AutoCAD and a degree in Interior Design or Architecture. The Interior Designer/ AutoCAD Technician will be responsible for the development and execution of creative interior design solutions for a variety of residential and commercial design projects.  The ideal candidate should have experience working with a team, strong technical skills, organizational skills and a keen design sense.  Applicants with residential, real estate and commercial interiors experience a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize current AutoCAD software with the ability to produce 2-dimensional drawings.
  • Generate detailed construction documents, including floor plans, furniture plans, elevations, sections and finish schedules.
  • Make updates and changes to existing drawings or designs.
  • Work with design team to research, develop and implement design ideas.
  • Assist senior designers in selecting fixtures and finishes.
  • Assist in production of furniture and finish packages, along with cost estimating.
  • Assist in field surveying of spaces.
  • Assist in project installations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced skills in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to translate design ideas and concepts into construction drawings.
  • Strong space planning and creative thinking skills.
  • A firm understanding of FF&E specifications, ability to incorporate applicable building codes and ADA codes compliance regulations.
  • Self-motivated/directed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to travel locally for site visits and project installations.
