Job Description

Duvall Decker is seeking a highly organized project architect to join our team of professionals.  

Every architectural team member contributes to the quality of the studio work by applying his or her unique experience, initiative, individual perspective, discipline, and design sensibility.  

Architectural Associates support design development, consultant coordination, detailing, construction documentation, and construction administration.  The Architectural Associate completes tasks with and in support of the Project Architect. An Architectural Associate, as a project team member, is responsible for understanding and developing the project goals, contributing to the success of the design effort, and striving for excellence in the work.

Bachelor or Master of Architecture Degree in Architecture from NAAB accredited program.

1-3 years of intern experience working on architectural projects. 

  • Exceptional design and critical thinking skills.
  • A good listener and a creative voice in the office. 
  • Strong verbal, writing, and graphic communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to participate and lead group discussions.
  • Ability to work in an organized and systematic manner.
  • Agile and able to complete multiple tasks with diverse team members.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills.
  • Interest in building technology, construction techniques, and architectural detail. 
  • Basic knowledge of architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical engineering systems.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret building and zoning codes.
  • Internship experience in construction documents, detailing, digital modeling, physical modeling, rendering, digital fabrication, and graphics.
  • Ability to understand priorities, manage multiple tasks and schedules. Exemplary work ethic and ability to work independently.
  • Familiarity with Environmental and Social community health issues, goals, tools, and systems (LEED, AIA-2030).
  • Ability to support planning, development, and maintenance projects.
  • Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit
  • Sketchup
  • Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat)
