CKMS is Seeking a candidate with 5+ years’ experience in all aspects of design coordination, project management, technical detailing, accessibility, and building codes, zoning a plus. Experience in building and planning in New York City and State is preferred. A good design sense and strong communication skills are required.

Requirements

  • Professional degree in architecture
  • Must include work samples along with your resume
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and self-motivate
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on multiple projects of all sizes
  • Experience working on multiple projects at the same time
  • Strong interpersonal skills, verbal, listening, and written including client presentation skills
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic

Project Management Requirements 70%

  • Advanced knowledge of design process, construction documentation, construction administration, and materials
  • Familiar with building codes, permitting, specifications, building, and engineering systems
  • Work with governing agencies on obtaining building permits documenting code review and approvals
  • Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, and regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives
  • Perform regular site visits to ensure design intent is accurately reflected
  • Understands project financial management and contract administration, including project coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and contract negotiations
  • Prepares and negotiates client and consultant proposals, fees, schedules, and contracts.
  • Defines, monitors and maintains control of the scope of work and services for the project including project schedule and work plan.
  • Ability to forecast and organize project design development and production delivery
  • Establishes, maintains, and documents regular project-related meetings including client, internal team, and consultant meetings.
  • Ensures the orderly and complete preparation, distribution, and retention of all project written records.
  • Considers risk management by monitoring client issues and technical issues in a timely manner to minimize liability.

Technical & Design 30%

  • High level of creativity, innovative thinking, and problem-solving
  • Generates design ideas and solutions and communicates effectively to project team and client
  • Designs in accordance with project schedules, budgets, applicable codes and ordinances
  • Understands and responds to the technical implications of design decisions
  • Responsible for the complete integration of design and technical aspects of the project
  • Production of documentation for all phases of architectural projects, including Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration (shop drawing review, RFIs, sketches)
