Office Overview: The office of Andrew Ferentinos Architect is based in Sharon, Connecticut, a small town located 2 hours north of New York City. The office is a small but growing boutique design office that specializes in producing great works of architecture that embody a high degree of design discipline, conceptual rigor, and construction detailing.
Role Overview: This job is a unique opportunity to enter a small but growing office as a Project Architect with the opportunity to advance into a senior leadership role. Job Position: Project Architect
Responsible for advancing a project or project(s) through design development and the construction documentation phases, with an emphasis on residential projects.
Competent in all aspects of architecture but the position requires work in the Design Development and Construction Documents phases.
Strong construction detailing experience, experience and knowledge of construction.
The ability to produce a set of organized design development and construction drawings
Candidates must be extremely organized and capable of multitasking
The candidate reports directly to Andrew Ferentinos
Full-time position, with vacation days, some benefits, no overtime
Currently a remote position due to Covid-19, but there is flexibility to transition into the office or remain remote. Preference is to eventually transition to working in the soon to be constructed new office building in Sharon, Connecticut or at least part-time in the office and part-time remotely.
Requirements:
5-10 years of professional experience
Licensure, preferred but not required
Degree in Architecture (BArch, March)
Strong visual and verbal communication skills
Permanent legal US work status
Ability to research local codes and ordinances
Able to work independently and remotely, collaborate with outside consultants, provide support to other members of a team.
Ability to handle a high volume of workload at times and adapt to deadlines.
Comfortable working in a small studio environment
Flexible at times, willing to wear multiple hats on projects and within the office
Strong time management and record-keeping skills
Very organized, professional in all office tasks.
Takes initiative.
Software:
Proficient in AutoCAD is required.
Proficient in Rhinoceros is required.
Proficient in rendering software such as V-ray, or similar, is a plus
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, is a plus.
Proficient in a Spreadsheet such as Numbers, Excel, or Google Sheets is required.
Familiarity or experience in managing files in the cloud is a plus.
