Larson Architecture Works PLLC is a boutique architecture firm in midtown Manhattan with a varied practice in high quality residential, commercial, boutique retail and civic projects. With degrees from University of Pennsylvania and University of Michigan, Principal Doug Larson has been in private practice in New York City and its environs for over 25 years. Senior Architectural Designer Position:

There is an immediate need for a full-time Senior Designer to work with staff members on varied residential and small scale institutional projects. Candidates should have 5 to 10 years of experience with demonstrated design skills, be able to attend design meetings, keep track of client requests and design concepts, be able to generate presentation drawings, multitask on multiple projects and be comfortable managing junior staff in conjunction with Studio Manager and Principal at firm.

Successful candidates will have ability to take direction from principal, develop design drawings including Schematics and Design Development, prepare design drawings for client presentations, and delegate drafting tasks as required to production team.  They should have appropriate experience in high-end residential work or other relevant experience including institutional and retail work.  They need not be registered, but some knowledge of codes, assemblies and architectural registration is preferred.

Requirements

• Degree in Architecture (BArch, March, or Architectural Technology) a plus
•  Strong ACAD skills a must
• Photoshop or other rendering capabilities a plus
• Strong visual and verbal communication skills
• Ability to confidently work with team and contractors on multiple projects
• Registration not essential but a plus
• Permanent legal US work status
