Project Architect

LTA is a New York City-based architecture and design studio that focuses on the built environment at all scales from objects to urban developments that are culturally and socially engaging and provocative with an emphasis on social consciousness and green practices.

We are seeking a full-time Architect with 5 or more years of professional experience and a B.Arch or M. Arch who is design-focused and has technical experience with project development and documentation in New York. Licensure is a plus but is not required. Applicants should be highly organized and able to work independently and remotely on a wide range of projects under the Principal’s supervision. 

Candidates will be expected to participate and supervise junior staff as required during all project phases and handle client and consultant interaction and management under the principal's direction.

Compensation for this position will be commensurate with experience.  This is a remote position at the moment but applicants must be located in New York and available for periodic project site visits in New York City and surrounding areas.

Key Tasks include:

• Project Management and Organization
• Conceptual and Schematic Design 
• Assist in the production of architectural plans and details
• Prepare construction documents and DOB filing sets
• Monitor preparation of technical drawings and ensure compliance of detailed documentation
• Assisting with construction administration, including site visit surveys and inspections
• Consultant coordination and management
• Specifications management and production

Position Requirements:

• B.Arch or M. Arch
• Experience in high-end design projects
• Licensed Architect in the state of New York a plus but not required
• Extensive knowledge of AutoCAD and Adobe Suite
• Experience with Rhino, 3D Max, Sketchup and other modeling software
• Experience with energy modeling software is a plus
• Practical experience on construction sites and project coordination with at least 5 years of experience
• Experience in technical drawing and detailing 
• Working knowledge of construction/production sets 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, from emails and reports to documents and specifications
