(KAL), a small business, with 18 employees is based in Irvine, and Sacramento, CA, provides a full spectrum of architecture, engineering, interior design, planning and construction management services. Founded in 1991, we have accumulated almost 30 years of continuous nationwide service to multiple branches of the Departments of Defense (DoD), Veterans Affairs and other Federal agencies.

We utilize the latest BIM/CADD technology and tools to manage projects and communicate interactively with our clients and consultants.

KAL Architects currently seeking a Project Architect to join our team:

As a Project Architect, you will develop and oversee completion of Federal projects in a manner consistent with firm’s standards for project delivery. You will have overall responsibility for client relationship, quality of work performed, client service and profitability. You will manage all aspects of the architecture-engineering design, design development, production of construction documents, and construction administration.

Requirements:

• Professional license to practice architecture and associated degree from an accredited university.
• Detailed understanding of the building multi-disciplinary design (preferably military and federal facilities) and development of construction documents.
• Review/edit specifications, develop details, review drawings, and coordinate work with consultants and in-house team.
• Experience in leading client meetings and design review meetings with the architectural staff and engineering disciplines.
• Team oriented person looking to invest and grow in professional career.
• Strong work ethic and drive to exceed client expectations.

Experience / Qualifications:

• Architecture degree from an accredited college program.
• 5 to 10 years of architectural design and management experience with the government agencies (Federal), preferably in healthcare.
• Strong working knowledge of addressing field issues, related to project scope, review of shop drawings, submittals, design support during construction, change orders and development of field reports.
• Supervise and lead junior architectural and engineering staff.
• Detailed understanding of computer applications used in an architectural office, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office suite, Microsoft Project, Photoshop and Sketchup.
• Strong technical report writing skills, and good verbal and written communication skills.
