Kamlesh Shah Designs (KSD Architects) is an award-winning and published local architecture firm with a wide reach that continues to grow. Our head office is in Cranbury, New Jersey with an additional location recently opened in Philadelphia. KSD works in a variety of design genres, for hospitality, retail, corporate, institutional, industrial, high-end residential, and much more. Our principal aspiration is to learn from and enhance the purpose, lifestyle, and environment of the end users - functionally and aesthetically – in whichever industry they are in.

We are currently seeking an experienced Architectural Designer / Draftsperson to join our Cranbury team for involvement on various sizes and types of projects!

Essential Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in new construction and renovation projects of multiple typologies, from concept design and coordination, to construction administration and project management
• Independently produce and review drawings and designs to ensure adherence to codes, specifications, and standards
• Effectively communicate between KSD members, outside consultants, clients, and contractors to manage project delivery

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• At least 8-10 years of experience in producing & coordinating construction documents for the planning, detailing and construction administration of projects
• Confident knowledge of U.S. construction techniques, standards, and design details
• An understanding in application of building codes and their limitations, with some supervision
• Extremely proficient understanding of AutoCAD to independently produce, review and administer construction drawings; BIM/Revit experience is a plus
• Self-motivated problem solver, with the ability to work autonomously as well as with others
• Excellent listener, with great visual, oral and written communication skills

Certifications & Education:

• Graduation from a 4-5 year NAAB Accredited Professional program in Architecture is preferred

The KSD team is seeking a person who would enjoy working in a fast-paced and creative environment while building relationships, influencing projects, and motivating team members! The ideal candidate has excellent analytical and multitasking skills to understand and implement the clients’ programmatic needs into drawings, and correspond with sub-consultants, clients and KSD team members in an efficient manner. The experienced Architectural Designer / Draftsperson will work closely with the Firm Principal and Director of Projects.
