JOB DESCRIPTION: You will be helping the Architecture team across a wide variety of tasks including product and vendor research, ordering material samples, invoicing, job-site administration, and completing drawings. We are “small and scrappy” and anything goes. This job is an incredible opportunity to get your feet wet across all areas of the design process - from ideation to construction. Compensation: negotiable

ABOUT US: The Brown Studio is a Design-Build studio, founded by husband/wife team Lindsay and Rory Brown, predominantly serving the San Diego area across residential and commercial typologies. In our very roots is a deep passion and dedication to well-crafted timeless architecture and interior design. As a full-service design studio, we manage projects from broad-scale schematic concept to detailed interior finishes and finally, all the way through to construction administration. ABOUT YOU: You are self motivated and eager to learn more. You are a self-starter, have a keen eye for details and a collaborative can-do attitude. You do not get discouraged easily and are looking to further your career as a valued collaborator within our tight-knit team. Qualifications include:

  • Undergraduate degree in architecture / masters a plus

  • At least 1 year experience in a design studio

  • Project management experience

  • Familiarity with project scheduling & consultant coordination

  • Efficient implementation of quality control and drawing standards

  • Understanding of high-end detailing, materials and systems

  • Experience in technical detailing & construction administration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Design sensitivity

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants

  • A positive attitude

  • Willingness to travel
