Architectural Designer: Red House Custom Building is looking for talent! An award winning, high-end Design/Build/Remodel Company, our design department has Architects and Interior Design on staff, and we are looking for an architectural designer to learn and grow in this position. RHCB has a hardworking, but fun, team atmosphere where collaboration and accountability is key. Writing, drawing and math skills are required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITY: This position will assist in the production of high quality, architectural drawings. Collaborate with the design team and production team to develop design strategies, technical details and material/product specifications. An eye for material detail is key as this position will prep all material specifications for the production and purchasing department.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The position’s activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Work in Revit to compile organized construction document sets and specifications that are both constructable and effectively communicate design intent.
  • Prepare presentation graphics, including schematic plans, elevations and renderings.
  • Complete site visits, measure existing conditions and create models in Revit.
  • Attend and/or conduct on-site meetings with clients, vendors, and/or suppliers as required.
  • Adhere to applicable building codes and work with city agencies to prepare permit submissions for approval.
  • Maintain and update BuilderTrend design and production schedules.
  • Assist the selections coordinator in obtaining and finalizing all selection specification information and provide information to internal departments to finalize contract details and purchase orders.
  • Assist in the design and placement of kitchen cabinetry orders.
  • Engage with other Red House team members, including the production team, to ensure the delivery of high quality projects.
  • Actively participate in team discussions and contribute positively to the Red House working environment.
  • Other responsibilities and duties as required.

Position Qualifications:

2-5 years of experience working on residential architecture projects

  • Strong interest in home renovation design and construction practices
  • Firm understanding of interior and exterior building methods and products with the desire to learn more and stay up to date with industry trends and innovations
  • Working knowledge of building codes and permitting processes
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at the same time, while maintaining attention to detail and staying organized
  • Ability to communicate effectively with project team members, including clients and consultants
  • Professional image, outgoing and friendly personality
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Desire to always push the boundaries and think “outside of the triangle”
  • Proven proficiency working in Revit, AutoCAD, 2020, and Chief Architect
  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • Must have a reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance
