SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER POSITION OPENING 

WHO WE ARE 

We are a new 501(c)(3) public charity focused on design and agriculture.

YOUR ROLE 

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing the various construction projects on the site ranging from a new ground up house to landscape and infrastructure improvements. The Senior Project Manager will coordinate between the Chief Planning Officer, contractors, and external design team to track, permits, budgets, and schedules. 

As the Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for: 

Coordination 

  • Design coordination across various projects and consultants, including architects, landscape architects, engineers, and specialty designers. 
  • Coordination of various contractors’ scopes. 
  • Potential phasing of the projects. 

Permitting 

  • Facilitation and tracking of permits with relevant County departments and agencies. 
  • Submission of relevant drawings and other requirements 
  • Coordination of required owner monitoring and inspections 
  • Tracking final sign offs, record documentation, as well as ongoing maintenance and monitoring requirements. 

Budget 

  • Tracking of consultant contracts and invoices 
  • Solicit multiple competitive bids for various scopes of work. 
  • Tracking of contractor estimates and invoices 

Schedule and Communication 

  • Coordination and management of design and construction schedules. 
  • Communication of schedule milestones with design team, contractors, collections team, and programming team. 

WHO YOU MIGHT BE 

You may have... 

  • Minimum seven (7) years of experience managing complex building projects. 
  • Extensive experience with acquiring permits. 
  • Minimum five (5) years experience serving as an Owners Representative, or Project Manager for an architecture, landscape architecture, engineering, or construction firm. 
  • Relevant experience with one or more of the following building types: agricultural, museum, or school.

WHAT TO EXPECT 

The Institute is currently headquartered in Petaluma, with additional Bay Area offices under development. Salary for this position is competitive. Additionally, we offer a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to medical, dental, vision, and generous holiday schedule and unlimited Paid Time Off after one year. 

We would like to have our Senior Project Manager join us as soon as possible.
