Peter Rose + Partners, an international architecture and urban design firm based in Boston, MA, is seeking a full time Research Assistant and Executive Coordinator to join our team. We are a highly collaborative, design-focused team that believes research should foreground all of our work in the built environment. We are at the forefront of research into engineered timber as a means of creating affordable and climate-conscious housing. We also engage in a range of research projects related to urban planning, public transportation, and sustainability in the building industry. Our work has been recognized through numerous publications and awards.

In this multi-faceted role, you will manage essential research and operations responsibilities for the studio.


  • Research Assistant (40%)
    • Report to and work directly with the principals. 
    • Conduct research and prepare research summaries.  
    • Prepare graphics and layouts for slide decks and other digital/printed material. 
    • Help foster collaboration with relevant partners. 
    •  Manage to do lists for research teams, and run research meetings.  
  • Executive Coordinator (40%)
    • Provide administrative and operational assistance to the principals in professional and personal matters. Responsibilities include scheduling, assisting with correspondence, and maintaining follow-up schedules and to do lists.  
  • Studio Manager (20%) 
    • Daily management of the office, including but not limited to answering phones, booking office travel, maintaining office organization, preparing weekly meetings and task lists, purchasing, and assisting in financial matters. 
    • Help with business development efforts, tracking award and project announcements, and maintaining follow-up schedules.

We’re looking for a self-motivated individual who is proactive and happy to work on their own initiative. The ideal candidate will have: 

  •  Excellent research and writing skills.
  • Sophisticated design and graphics skills. 
  • A highly organized approach to managing projects and to do lists.
  • Rigorous attention to detail.
  • A genuine passion for the built environment (industry experience preferred but not necessary). 
  •  Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
