Massa Multimedia Architecture, PC (MMA) is a trusted, passionate, growing and innovative Architectural Firm headquartered in Neptune, NJ with offices in Washington D.C, Greenville, SC as well as small satellite offices in Tallahassee and Tampa, FL. We have extensive in-house design and documentation experience in retail and ground up development, mixed-use, healthcare and urban and suburban K-12 educational facilities.

We are seeking an ambitious individual with 7-10 years BIM management experience within the architectural community. The position of BIM Manager is to understand how BIM will affect project workflows and project management throughout MMA. The primary responsibility is to manage and coordinate BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement on all related BIM projects, files and models.

 Duties & Essential Job Functions:

  • Management:
    • Create written technology evaluations and budgets for future technology adoption that aligns with the corporate goals
    • Chair the company’s BIM committee
    • Report on the company’s current and projected state with regards to BIM development
    • Create upgrade and deployment strategies for the BIM implementation effort
      • Assess: Evaluate the firm’s current workflow, strategies, budgets, projects, staffing, etc.
      • Plan: Create a plan for implementation.  Who are the team members, what is the project, what are the goals, etc.
      • Solve: Execute the plan, install the software, get templates created, get training, etc.
      • Confirm: Be able to demonstrate the company’s BIM success by evaluating goals that were established in the Assess Phase
  • Standards:
    • Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement
    • Creation and maintenance of the software template files to assure standards
    • Provide support for plotting and electronic file submissions
    • Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity
    • Assist in developing and enforcing BIM documentation and workflow process standards
    • Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of Revit Specialists to ensure BIM standards are maintained in the creation of Revit Architectural models
    • Assist in developing MMA Production Manual
    • Assist in developing detail libraries for typical details and specific details that can be applied to a variety of conditions
    • Manage model component libraries.  Review model components and families developed by staff prior to implementation into our projects
  • Support:
    • Provide hardware and network support as it relates to BIM production
    • Provide support for 3D scanning interoperability with BIM
    • Support the BIM technology needs of a multi-office firm
    • Troubleshoot problems
    • Liaison with national vendors
    • Liaison with corporate technology support staff
    • Liaison with software developer support staff and other support channels
  • Training
    • Internal Training:  Provide Revit Architecture Fundamental and Intermediate training to MMA staff
    • Conduct internal continuing education Revit Architecture training sessions
    • Provide technical orientation to new hires regarding BIM tools
    • Test and evaluate new hires skills in BIM
    • Maintain high level of competency of software through continued use and training
    • Attend conferences, seminars, and workshops for BIM; bringing back learning and disseminating the information to appropriate teams
  • Project Interface
    • Support project standards coordination with clients
    • Set up the initial Revit file for each new project to assure compliance with standards
    • Assist on project work - modeling and detailing
    • Assist project teams in BIM project setup
    • Create Revit families in response to project need and complexity
    • Review model development prior to the commencement of construction documents for standards compliance.  Assist project team with cleaning the model.
    • Create and manage parameters for each project template / master file
    • Help resolve BIM design issues
    • Manage project archiving
    • Manage and distribute coordinated digital documents to the project team
    • Coordinate needed hardware upgrades with IT
    • Communicate with subcontractors to receive, coordinate and update all electronic models
    • Link BIM to the project construction administration phase for submittals, construction models, shop drawings and schedules
  • Software:
    • Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases, maintaining legacy software and customizing software for specific firm needs
    • Manage the implementation of supporting software for BIM
    • Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies
    • Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit Architecture and BIM
    • Stay informed on other BIM related software and how they work with Revit
    • Install and provide support of related BIM software
  • •Marketing of BIM services
    • Create marketing content for Web, literature, interviews, presentations at relevant client focused conferences
    • Identify trends and business opportunities relating to BIM
    • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding BIM software
  • Liaison for BIM process with:
    • Future planning for potential uses of BIM
    • Sustainable Design
    • Planning
    • 3D Design
    • 3D Rendering
    • Facilities Management
    • Cost Estimating
    • Specification Management & Interface
    • Integrate Project Delivery
    • Digital Prototyping & Fabrication
    • Modularization
  • Involvement with Industry Organizations and BIM initiatives and development through the following:
    • AlA Technology in Architectural Practice (TAP) Knowledge Community
    • AlA Integrated Practice Knowledge Community Industry Events:  AlA National Convention
    • Autodesk University
    • AUGI
    • Local User Groups
    • Local college & universities for future resources
