AUSTIN E. KNOWLTON SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

Christos Yessios Digital Fabrication Associate or Full Professor of Architecture

The Architecture Section of the Knowlton School at The Ohio State University is seeking candidates at the Associate of Full level for a tenure-track position in architecture with innovative research in emerging digital technologies in design, and will also consider extraordinary candidates at the Assistant level. This endowed position is supported by the Christos Yessios Fund. We aim to hire those who show strong potential for making a significant contribution to design research through scholarship, creative design practices, and/or criticism; and for engendering enthusiasm in the studio and classroom.

The responsibilities of the position include general instructional duties at all levels of the curriculum, undergraduate and graduate, and in all classroom environments (studio, lecture, and seminar) as well as full participation in faculty committee and service assignments. The Yessios Professor will take an active role in shaping digital design and fabrication pedagogy and research at Knowlton.

Candidates with a research focus related to emerging digital fabrication tools and related technologies and their implications or contemporary design are encouraged to apply, and each application will receive full consideration. A wide range of topics for study will be considered, with preference to those which leverage the School’s resources, especially investigations that focus on computer-controlled fabrication techniques and research in technology, digital media, and material assemblies.
