Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a motivated, self starter, Business Development Leader for our growing team in the Bay Area Market. The BD Leader is required to be a licensed Architect with a deep understanding of multi-family housing (market rate, affordable, seniors, student), mixed-use and hospitality markets. The Business Development Leader will report directly to the Business Development Director.

This ideal candidate must be a team player with a positive influence and has the ability to inspire, motivate, collaborate with and develop others, as well as be an exceptional communicator both internally and externally. The Business Development Leader will be presenting to clients on the latest innovative ideas and explain TCA's history and experience in a thoughtful and meaning manner. The candidate must be able to articulate TCA's Value Proposition to clients and understand the fundamental difference between our firm and our competition. The candidate must have strong leadership skills while participating in a team environment to respond to RFPs, competitions and follow-up marketing materials as necessary. The candidate shall be design-minded and technically inclined with excellent writing and oral communications skills and must be very organized, efficient and timely.

The Business Development Leader is a representative of the architecture studio, and is expected to attend networking events, seminars and conferences to promote the architecture practice and to engage with industry leaders, connectors and clients. This candidate must also have experience in Business Development and Client management, including development of proposals and contracts. A solid working knowledge of current construction methods, procedures, and costs in affordable and market rate multi-family housing is a must.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of architectural experience required
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on affordable and/or multi-family projects
  • Experience with identifying upcoming architectural projects and pipeline
  • Responsible for maintaining and growing existing relationships as well as cultivating new ones
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to develop and execute business development and growth strategies
  • Maintain CRM database of all business development activities
  • Participate in industry conferences, events, meetings and educational seminars
  • Prepare and present TCA qualifications to candidates either formally in a presentation setting or informally over lunches or casual encounters
  • Ability to research, analyze opportunities and establish risk assessment for go/no-go decisions
  • Ability to collaborate with the marketing departments and leadership within the company

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture required
  • California licensed Architect required
  • Member of AIA & other professional organizations

Position Location:

The Architectural Business Development Leader will be located in our Oakland office.
