The Senior Director for Retail Construction is responsible for the management of construction of domestic retail stores encompassing new build-out, renovations/upgrades, fixture launches and seasonal installations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Bottom line accountable for overseeing construction project budgeting, scheduling, purchasing and build out for all full price locations.  Includes new sites and renovations.
  • Strategically build construction plans per project as well as direct the bidding process.
  • Experience In Flagship or key-address/locale retail store construction as well as mall and street front location.
  • Experienced in interior and exterior build-out as it applies to store interiors and store facades/storefronts.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining project schedules, as well as working with in-house and outside teams to maintain schedules and milestones.
  • Full knowledge in creating and maintaining budgets, as well as value engineering and cost saving exercises.- experience in maintaining capital forecast and budget tracking, familiarity with change-orders and budget alterations/changes.
  • Proficient in bidding/awarding and reviewing/managing contracts and related project management scope- knowledgeable/proficient in square/footage cost for various trades, sub-contractors and locales in the US.
  • Experienced in sourcing and vetting new vendors (contractors, mill workers and consultants).
  • Experienced in document and bid drawing review for consistency and correctness.
  • Familiarity with lease negotiations, lease familiarity, work letters and related scope. Experience in working with/partnering with corporate Real Estate and Legal teams.

 Experience, Skills & Knowledge

  • 8-10 years’ experience.
  • Experience in lux/high-end retail construction across the US a must.
  • Experience in a partner/liaison with in-house architect/design and business teams, as well as outside contractors, mill-workers and related consultants.
  • Must have experience with multi-million dollar budget.
  • Financial and analytical strength.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Project a must.
  • AutoCAD proficiency preferable.
