Frame is on the hunt for a sharp, fresh thinking Project Architect to join our Downtown Oakland studio.

Frame is conceived as a multidisciplinary studio; a team with varying perspectives and skillsets, all with the common goal of crafting human centric spaces to live, work and relax in. Frame has accumulated a diverse body of work that includes residential commissions, retail, office and medical interiors. Over the past 15 years, Creative Director, Chad DeWitt has received numerous accolades from domestic and international publications, with our reinvention of a ranch house originally designed by Bay Area architect, Henry Hill appearing in Spaces Magazine this month.

Our current projects include renovations of midcentury homes, a new build geodesic home in Sonoma, and an A frame cabin from the 1970’s on the summit near Tahoe.

Your Role:

  • Working with the Principal to create well conceived and thoughtfully detailed design work.

  • Producing comprehensive sets of drawings that clearly convey our design intent.

  • Participation in evaluating materials, construction administration in the field, and applying your knowledge of construction type V.

  • Developing and managing production timelines for each project.

  • Nurturing and managing existing client relationships, and fostering new relationships.

Ideal candidates have proven technical experience, be highly organized, and be capable of running jobs with minimal assistance. A passion for good design and the tectonics of building will be key your success at Frame.

Your Qualifications:

  • Architectural License in the State of California.  Recently acquired is acceptable.
