We work with an international and diverse clientele, guiding our clients through the entire project - from finding a site to specifying items from finishing to furniture – culminating in a stunning prefabricated home, delivered and assembled on-site.

You have:

  • 5-plus years’ experience reviewing and/or preparing construction documents
  • 5-plus years'in a design role
  • A degree in Architecture
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Proficiency in SketchUp
  • Experience supervising staff and coordinating consultants
  • A strong eye and design vocabulary 
  • Architectural Registration (preferred)

  • Opportunity to augment Turkel Design's creative voice
  • Act as primary designer during the schematic design process, and ensure that the design intent is maintained throughout subsequent phases
  • Customer-facing role, guiding the project and the client through site analysis, schematic design, permitting, construction documentation, pricing and specification
  • Coordinate and maintain lasting relationships with clients, staff, consultants, builders, and local regulatory officials
  • Ensure that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule

  A typical day with us: 

  • Creating project schedules and coordinating with clients, consultants, and staff to implement them
  • Providing innovative and thoughtful design direction for client consideration
  • Presenting and discussing designs with clients via online screen-share meetings
  • Overseeing and reviewing the creation of complete sets of construction documents
  • Researching building codes, construction techniques, materials, industry standards, and local regulations
  • Traveling to perform site visits (across Canada and the US)
  • Participating in a collaborative studio culture
