Position: Architectural Designer/ Project Manager

KMD is looking for a talented professional to join our team and help build truly unique design pieces in our combined metal and wood shop, for a wide variety of upscale residential and commercial clients (Levi’s, Google, Slack…)

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will directly assist the founder:

develop design concepts and presentations to clients
estimate jobs, write proposals and contracts
draft shop drawings for client approval and fabrication
work on marketing and brand collateral as needed

S/he will also contribute to the success of projects by:

working with the Shop Manager to clarify shop drawings for ordering and in-house fabrication; manage schedule to meet milestones and deadlines; track time and material costs
working with the Office Manager to submit change orders and manage progress payments
working collaboratively with all KMD staff to improve all aspects of project management and promote client and employee satisfaction

Qualifications:
You are innovative, highly motivated and organized. You have exceptional communications skills, and want to be part of a creative team where your input can make a big difference.

Your background may include experience with:
architecture
interior design
product/furniture design
construction management
real estate development
manufacturing

Required knowledge/skills:

CAD or similar drafting/rendering program
Scheduling and project management software
Harvest software
Proficient with spreadsheets and basic financial accounting

Full-Time
Salary based on experience and skill
Working Hours: flexible but generally M-F 8-5 with occasional overtime
Paid holidays and time off
