The Opportunity:

Perkins Eastman, where employees are encouraged continuously to engage, to learn, and to contribute in a vibrant and supportive office culture, is in search of a Senior Interior Designer with strong analytical and problem solving skills and a passion for high-quality design and a collaborative process.

This position will provide an opportunity to work with integrated design teams on Workplace, Multi-family and Education projects of various sizes and complexity. The individual selected must possess the ability to react positively to a variety of design priorities, styles and project delivery methods. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the role of Project Manager on individual projects.

  • Leading and mentoring a design team during Programming, Planning, Strategy Implementation, Restacking, Phasing, and Test Fits.

  • Directing the design team on all aspects of a project – from the Pre-Design Phase through Construction Completion.

  • Reviewing proposed designs for compliance with applicable codes.

  • Recommending and approving finishes and furniture for various projects.

  • Participating in Client meetings and presentations.

  • Overseeing the preparation of construction drawings and construction detailing for contractors and in the construction administration phase.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience, preferably more, on projects of relevant type and scale.

  • Has expert knowledge of furniture lines and FF&E specification.

  • Is capable of directing the development, communication and presentation of design concepts.

  • Is capable of working on multiple projects at the same time.

  • Can demonstrate a working knowledge of Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Max, Sketch-up, InDesign and other related design software.

  • Would preferably have NCIDQ accreditation.

  • Has LEED accreditation or is willing to pursue it in the next 6 months.
