JOB PURPOSE

As an Architectural Associate at Pressed you would be responsible for helping manage the day to day tasks required for planning, designing, and managing existing store renovations and new store construction.  You will work closely with other teams at Pressed as well as consultants, contractors, and suppliers to keep projects moving along smoothly and efficiently.    

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

  • Coordinating and managing renovations and refresh projects for existing store locations
  • Surveying existing conditions to determine the scope of work required
  • Reading, producing, and editing architectural drawings and sketches
  • Reviewing shop and millwork drawings from vendors and subs
  • Working with our retail and design teams to identify the work required to expand our product line in existing stores
  • Preparing all-inclusive budgets for proposed work at each location.
  • Obtaining permits and approvals as required from landlords and government authorities
  • Hiring contractors and vendors to execute the projects
  • Providing proper oversight to ensure the work is executed to PJ standards
  • maintaining and updating project schedules
  • Other job-related duties as requested
  • Travel might be required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+  years working in architectural design or project management role with retail projects
  • experience with retail build-outs, renovations, and refresh projects
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Adobe
  • Working knowledge of architectural assemblies
  • knowledge of building systems and materials
  • knowledge of construction procedures and processes
  • knowledge of building permitting procedures
  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in multiple stages simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Ability to maintain confidential company information in the strictest of confidence
  • Familiarity with and experience with retail or food service projects is a plus
  • Experience with 3d modeling and rendering with SketchUp is a plus
