We are an award-winning lighting design firm with headquarters in Los Angeles.  We have a new satellite office in Cleveland. We are looking for a lighting designer, architect or interior designer for our Cleveland office, but will also consider the New York City location.  We are an established firm with a roster of top-notch clients for interior and exterior commercial, hospitality and institutional projects.

If you are an architect or interior designer with minimal lighting experience, we will train you, but you MUST have a deep desire to work with light and to grow your knowledge and you MUST have the ability to produce architectural documents.  Architectural lighting is an exciting field that is constantly evolving with new technology and new practices.  You will collaborate with our teams in our California and Ohio and Pennsylvania offices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, Industrial Design
  • Expert knowledge of working drawing and procedures
  • Knowledge of building systems, project design and construction process
  • Sketching and rendering skills
  • Ability to draw architectural details
  • Knowledge of lighting products
  • 3D design/visualization
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2017/18
  • Revit 2017/18 proficiency
  • Adobe Create Suite skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Presentation and graphic communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Creative and inquisitive mind
  • Love of light!

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated competency in all phases of architectural lighting
  • Knowledge of electrical principles as they relate to artificial lighting
  • Intermediate knowledge of lighting control systems, energy codes, and energy-efficient design
  • Lighting calc skills (AGI132, Elumtools or similar)
  • Understanding of photometrics, lighting technology and applications.

RESONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Work directly with the Design Director to manage overall project scheduling.
  • Collaborate and initiate ideas with the project team in the design and in the production of interior architectural lighting design and construction documents on all project types
  • Assist and collaborate with the project team in producing presentation materials and in presenting designs to clients and other consultants
  • Assist and collaborate with the project team in conducting construction-phase activities including drawings, requests for information, document updates, project record-keeping
  • Interact with various consultants on projects
  • Develop lighting design resources
  • Assist in lighting measurement and research-oriented activities
  • Model buildings/rooms for daylighting and electric lighting calculations
