Wamhoff Design Build is an award winning, full service design/build firm located in Houston, TX. We offer a full range of architectural, master planning, development and brokerage services for high-end custom residential construction. 

Wamhoff Design Build is offering an internship opportunity for a motivated and talented individual with a major in Architecture (0-3 years of experience). Must be close to graduating or have a bachelor’s degree in architecture. The qualified applicant will have an opportunity to gain practical work experience, as well as hands-on education, by being a part of the team working on a variety of residential, commercial, and development projects in all phases of design process – from marketing efforts and initial inception through development of construction documents and all the way to construction administration. Applicants must be proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Photoshop, as well as possessing good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with project teams to ensure budgeting for specification production, and coordinate scheduling and production of project specifications. 

Maintain proficiency in construction products, techniques and sequences by staying abreast of product developments, new materials, code changes, and current industry trends. 

Prepare Revit site plans for Architectural Project Manager by compiling surveys/elevation certificates, FEMA maps, soils reports, deed restrictions, and permitting requirements. 

Prepare electrical layouts for review by Architectural Project Manager.

Submit plans for ACC/ARC/HOA approval and/or city/county permitting authorities. 

Assist Architectural Project Manager and Purchasing Manager in the Takeoff/Bidding process. 

Manage multiple projects and deadlines – phases, milestone deliveries and various project delivery types. 

Review in-progress drawings, ensuring complete and coordinated technical specifications and offering modifications and improvements when appropriate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree 

Demonstrate computer skills including knowledge of Autodesk Revit/AutoCAD
