Amanda Martocchio Architecture is an award-winning architecture and design studio in New Canaan, CT which specializes is innovative and artfully detailed residential and small commercial projects.  We believe that the environments we design can and should enhance lives and nurture the environment.  Our studio atmosphere relies upon design-thinking from all staff members, technical knowledge in drawing production and presentation, appreciation for building science, and versatility to wear many hats.  We actively participate in construction administration and engagement with the building team as we believe it is a prerequisite for successful project realization.  Please see to learn more about our work. 

We are currently seeking a full time Project Architect to join our studio who will take on the role of executing and managing projects from design through on-site construction observation.

New Canaan, CT is one hour from NYC by train/car and 45 minutes from New Haven by car.

Qualifications must include:

  • 5 to 10 Years of Professional Experience in all Stages of Design and Construction
  • Professional Degree in Architecture (B. Arch and/or M. Arch from accredited program)
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and members of the project team both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to present design ideas using a variety of graphic presentation skills including  a facility in hand sketching, old-school model-making, and a mastery of the following software tools:  AutoCAD, 3D Studio, Sketch-Up, Rhino, Adobe CS, MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to conduct research independently and specify novel and project-specific materials and building components
  • Ability to complete and coordinate a set of detailed and thorough construction documents
  • Ability to administer construction, including traveling to site meetings, coordinating the work of MEP and Structural consultants, and reviewing shop drawings
  • Familiarity with Building Codes and ability to execute and coordinate the building permitting process
  • Self-motivated with an ability to work independently, while welcoming both interaction with the Principal and collaboration with the staff
  • Legal working status within the US
