Position Summary:

An Architectural Designer at Tyler+Kelly Architecture assists with all phases of a project from conception to completion. This requires a robust knowledge of Design, Presentation, Drafting, Technical Detailing, and Document Coordination, as well as familiarity with city Entitlement Processes. Professional experience with Revit (BIM) is required. This position is intended for a proactive professional who will thrive in a creative environment with multiple responsibilities, projects, and deadlines. It has long-term growth potential for those individuals that demonstrate a commitment to the continuing improvement of the firm.

Required Skills & Experience: 

  • 5-7+ years relevant Architectural Experience
  • Licensed Architect or on track to licensure
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture or related field
  • Revit (BIM) Proficiency and Professional Experience, including:
    • Proficiency in project setup, collaboration, templates, libraries, families, etc.
    • Understanding of BIM Clash Detection & Resolution for Revit applications (i.e. Navisworks)
    • Understanding of BIM Rendering Capabilities for Revit applications (i.e. 3DS Max)
    • Understanding of Cloud collaboration and other methods of integrated collaboration
    • Willingness to evaluate existing office standards/processes and help improve current methods
  • Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency and Professional Experience, including InDesign & Photoshop
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency and Professional Experience, including Word, Excel, & Powerpoint
  • Project Phase Knowledge, including Programming, Concept & Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration
  • Construction & Occupancy Type Knowledge, especially Types I & III Construction
  • Ability to identify issues in need of resolution; ability to recommend the appropriate course of action
  • Excellent organization & time management skills
  • Initiative, flexibility, and the ability to work cooperatively in a team-based environment
  • Ability to meet deadlines while still maintaining high production quality
