Design Technology Specialist / BT Revit

Location: Rome

Job profile

A 1-3 years of experience Architect in Digital Design BIM (Revit) platform; technical and operational knowledge for projects of a certain level of complexity, within multi-discipline infrastructure team and time-sensitive development.

The Design Technology Specialist position is expected to develop detailed design at advanced phases of development in direct coordination with Design Team and Project Manager guidance (from SD, DD to CD) while addressing  the creation of families and parametric protocols while assurance the quality, construction-based documentation and sheet list completion. In periodical reports to BIM supervisor.

Knowledge and understanding of the detail design phases and construction process, as well as a willing for innovation is expected from the candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement and develop design details following the protocols of digital modeling and data base to be implemented on projects at several phases of design (production of drawings and specifications from schematic through construction document stages).
  • Produce sheet list submissions, with construction models and schedules for projects; in absolute correspondence with design phasing and contractual LOD and LOI per commission, in BIM (Revit).
  • Work directly in the application of company standards, knowledge base in the levels of modeling and drawing levels of depth and detail precision.
  • Coordinate the Sheet List Schedules, Rooms Properties and Filters Data quantification.
  • Implement interface for drawings standards (annotations, nomenclature, specs per layout-scale, libraries, families, etc.)
  • Follow up of correspondence, drawings, and other relevant materials associated with projects, for track record of evolution of design and technical components, Conforming to project development schedules.
  • Ability to work simultaneously areas of development within one large scale project; while stewarding the overall design culture and collaborative design processes within the studio to achieve design excellence.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail and highly organized, be driven by outcomes, have a conscientious and detailed approach, along with a positive and pro-active approach to supporting the team.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Applied BIM Technology (Revit or CAD 360 based) or similar.
  • Revit: 1-3 years of experience working projects at several phases of design, detailing and construction-oriented development packages (tender drawings level). In-depth experience in BIM technology.
  • Understand project workflows from preliminary design through construction documentation and administration.
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and resolve problems in a timely and positive manner and organized methodology.
  • Ability to work independently, and to manage multiple tasks and projects under constant deadlines.
  • Bilingual (Italian-English) is desirable. Other languages are considered advantageous.
