Designer III (Interiors Studio)

The Role

Designer III team members are responsible for providing leadership to team members and primary day-to-day project administration and communication with clients, project teams and outside consultants in a manner consistent with firm-wide standards. Must possess the ability to manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, and mentor team members.  Designer III team members report to and work under the guidance of the Interiors Studio Director.   

Education:       Architecture or Interior Design school graduate. Other                            accreditations encouraged.

Experience:      7 or more years of experience with demonstrated ability                         to manage multiple projects through all phases.

Skills:               Revit, AutoCAD, MS Office, Adobe Suite, 3D Modeling,                          SketchUp, Strong Presentation Skills

Project Planning Responsibilities:

  • Plan projects in conjunction with Studio Director and Architectural Project Manager.
  •  Manage multiple small to mid-size projects concurrently.
  • Acquire and maintain full insight on interior budget, scope and contract deliverables. 
  • Oversee preparation and accuracy of contract documentation and specifications, ensuring the project remains on schedule and within budget. 
  • Establish and maintain Interiors Project Schedule,  (including phase deadlines, filing milestones and meetings. 
  • Review Interior Project Specifications with Architectural Project Manager.
  • Direct the preparation of and assist in conducting client design presentations. Obtain client approval on all interior finishes and FF&E selections. 
  • Assist Owner in assembling interior consultant team, including  FF&E procurement, lighting design and RCP Coordination.
  • Work with Studio Director to define interior team FF&E procurement and lighting design roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead coordination of the Interior consultant team.
  • Oversee and lead interior contract administration process.

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in development of interiors program requirements.  
  • Participate in Peer Performance Review Process.
