Architect/Designer II

The Role The Architect/Designer II at MA is responsible for the development of design and technical solutions for entire aspects of projects. These solutions should be based on the approved design concept in a manner consistent the MA design approach. Architects/DIIs also assist in directing the work of more junior staff members. Working independently and cooperatively with the project team, the client, consultants, and contractors is a vital part of the role.  To succeed in these responsibilities, good communication, problem solving, and organizational skills are essential.

This role reports to the Project Manager/Project Architect.


·         Assist in project development from concept through documentation and construction administration.

·         Prepare design presentation documents, renderings, and materials as directed.

·         Attend client meetings with PM/PA and other team members where appropriate and prepare meeting minutes.

·         Coordination with activities of consultants (structural engineer, lighting consultant, etc.).

·         Organization and tracking of project correspondence and communications.

·         Develop new or identify existing details to be utilized for project.

·         Prepare drawings, schedules, and specifications as directed.

·         Incorporate changes and updates to the project documentation.

·         Assist project team with Construction Administration.

·         Assist with review of shop drawings and approvals.

·         Attend site meetings as approached.

·         Assist PM/PA in the preparation of a punch-list.

·         Prepare record documents at conclusion of services.

  • Attend Regular or weekly progress review with SD/PM.



Education:   Architecture school graduate. Registered architect or actively taking the Architectural Registration Examination

Experience: 5-7 years of experience demonstrating increasing project responsibilities. Proficient in 3D modeling using software such as Revit and AutoCAD. 

Skills: Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and/or SketchUp
