As a nationally expanding firm, we continually strive to search for our key asset: potential employees to join our growing team. Due to our stage of growth and growing clientele, opportunities are essentially unlimited for ideal candidates.

We have a number of positions on one of our feature clients project team which we plan on hiring for immediately in the Nashville, TN metropolitan area.. Please peruse the following minimum desired background, experience and attributes we believe are key to a successful hire.

Positions are ideal for:

  • Recent graduates of Architecture or Interior Design
  • Experienced intern architects who are searching for and ready to step into a leadership position
  • High performing architectural drafters with relevant sector experience.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program;

or

  • Associates degree in Architectural Drafting combined with a minimum of 3 years experience within an architectural, design or construction environment.

or

  • Architecture/Interior Design degree from abroad combined with sector experience

SKILLSETS:

  • Autodesk AutoCad expertise of at least an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10 (1 indicating need to learn it, 10 indicating could teach a class).
  • Autodesk Revit expertise desirable but not necessary.
  • Adobe Suite functional knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office functional knowledge.
    • Excel use and familiarity is essential.
  • Other supporting design software packages.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience performing within a customer-focused, deadline driven environment.
  • Architectural firm or department/construction company/space planning group experience.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of A/E processes and construction.
  • Commercial Retail sector knowledge, familiarity, or experience.
  • Comfortable quickly learning new software.
  • Ability to review, read and understand construction drawings, space plans, fixture plans and other architectural drawings.
  • Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and foster trust.

SAMPLE TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH THE POSITIONS:

The following are some sample tasks associated with the positions. Specific tasks are determined by the specific role required on a per project basis.

  • Participate or conduct meetings with Architects, national account vendors, and/or other internal or external customers.
  • Perform appropriate Code Research and apply per specific project requirements.
  • Operate computer-aided drafting (CAD) equipment or conventional drafting station to produce designs, working drawings, charts, forms, and records.
  • Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs.
  • Design and development of fixture plans, elevations and renderings for new construction, retrofit buildings and remodels.
  • Perform edits or regenerate architectural drawings of structures including floor plans, lighting plans, ceiling plans, construction documents, details, etc.
  • Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs.
  • Generate renderings or 3-d models of proposed structure using drawings, sketches, dimensions, materials, fixtures, etc.
  • Analyze technical implications of design concepts.
  • Prepare and process change notices and design revisions through appropriate channels.
  • Development of tracking schedules for milestone target dates, purchase orders, etc.
  • Create and maintain new prototypes and libraries of fixtures and graphics.
  • Resolve project specific and prototype document issues/questions.
  • Supports research and development of value engineering initiatives to reduce building cost.
