Job Summary:

Based in North Adams and reporting to the CEO /COO, she /he provides direct architectural and design services related to GCAM consultancy projects as well as development projects such as the EMRCA.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Design development, and management of projects
  • Liaison with invited architects and designers
  • Liaison with model fabrication shops
  • Conduct studies on laser-cutting, CNC milling and other technologies
  • Manage and direct Design Team personnel
  • Generate proposals, work plans, schedules
  • Oversee fabrication of physical models
  • Fabrication research and implementation
  • Produce cost estimates for models
  • Immediate building projects management
  • Produce volumetric analysis of cultural assets for consultancy work
  • Develop and maintain database of architects and architectural assets
  • Interface with Research Department on relevant projects
  • Produce RFP packages for cultural assets
  • Develop area programs for cultural assets
  • Train design team staff as necessary

Knowledge Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in Rhino, CAD
  • 2-5 years experience with architecture / design / fabrication firms 
  • Skills in AutoCAD, Rhino, the Adobe Suite, and Microsoft Office
  • Maya, 3ds Max, and Fusion 360 experience a plus
