Schrimmer Design Group, a design-centered mid-size interior architecture firm located in midtown Manhattan, is looking for an experienced, creative and motivated Intermediate Project Architect/ Manager (5-9 years of experience) to join our vibrant team of designers, architects and managers to collectively develop innovative, thoughtful, and technical solutions for a range of clients and project types. We’re looking for a team-oriented and self-motivated architect and manager to help take projects from the initial stages of programming, master planning and design through contract documents and construction. Responsibilities Include:

  •  Design, documentation and management of multiple commercial & residential interior and architecture projects
  • Involvement in all phases of project development from programming, planning, design and contract documents through construction, schedules and budgets.
  • Direct teams in designing and detailing, from schematic design through construction completion.
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple in-house disciplines including strategy, branding, and graphic design, for the delivery of fully-integrated projects
  • Coordinate efforts across multiple project consultants: engineers, expediters, vendors etc.
  • Manage interface with contractors from initial pricing and bidding, through construction completion.
  • Executing project workloads of design assignments and following through on required deliverables while maintaining time budgets and schedules.


  • Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) or Interior Design
  • Licensure in NY preferred, LEED AP a plus.
  • Minimum 5 consecutive years’ relevant experience (post-grad) including substantial experience managing projects and large consultant teams
  • Work examples that demonstrate technical excellence and design sensibility.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well both in a team or independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, specifically with clients, team members, consultants.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, 3d modeling and Rendering skills (Sketchup or 3D Studio Max)
  • Ability to produce detailed and fully coordinated construction documents
  • Familiarity with NYC building codes
  • Available to start within 2-3 weeks of interview
