Senior Designer

Full-service Interior Design firm specializing in high-end commercial and residential design, currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Designer to develop and deliver concepts for several projects while maintaining and managing drawing task lists, schedules and overall project management. Applicants should have extensive (5-10 years) experience in the interior architecture/design process from schematic concept development through production and installation, including a minimum of (2) years of Project Management experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills are essential, as well as the ability to work independently on multiple projects simultaneously.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Executing design direction to create architectural drawings, 3D renderings, and furniture layouts
  • Managing drawing tasks for each project, while projecting deadlines and benchmarks for drawing deliverables
  • Liaising with the AOR, Engineers in the coordination of drawing efforts, filing and bid sets, and other related documents.
  • Reviewing AOR's drawings, shop drawings, etc., to ensure adherence to original design intent
  • Assisting principle in preparing for client meetings and design presentations
  • Attending regular project and site meetings
  • Communicating with vendors and subcontractors, coordinating with general contractors onsite during the build-out phase
  • Assisting in FF&E process, from sourcing to procurement. 
  • Maintaining CAD standards and implementing visual standards for drawing sets, presentation documents, and more.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interior Design or Architecture, related degrees will be considered
  • At least 5-10 years of experience in the design field preferred. High-end residential, hospitality and commercial experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D software (Rhino/Sketchup/Revit). Ability to produce high-quality renderings a plus.
  • Experience with Construction Administration, RFIs and sub-coordination
  • Strong understanding of New York City building codes
  • Knowledge of design history and the ability to design within varying aesthetic constraints
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with project management software. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Resourceful and efficient problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work 40+ hours a week in a fast-paced environment
  • Currently living in New York (or willing to relocate) and legally eligible to work in the United States
