James Corner Field Operations seeks an articulate and enthusiastic Business Development Coordinator for our New York office. We are a leading-edge landscape architecture and urban design practice based in New York City and are a creative, ideas-driven practice with a high-energy and collaborative studio environment.

This position will involve close coordination with our small Marketing and Business Development team, as well as the office Principals and Admin staff. Responsibilities include initial assessment of potential new projects; preparing regular updates on potential new work; assisting with building proposal teams; coordinating and preparing proposals and RFP/RFQ submissions; maintaining relationships with key collaborators; and maintaining proposal-related personnel and approach materials.

The ideal candidate has:

  • familiarity with the field of landscape architecture, urban design, or building architecture;
  • excellent writing skills and a professional approach to emails;
  • strong organization and time management habits;
  • a friendly demeanor and strong collaborative skills;
  • an eye for details, an efficient working process, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines; 
  • the ability to work independently when needed and set internal/personal deadlines in working toward a larger goal; and
  • a good eye for strong image selection and graphic design.


  • strong command of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint)
  • excellent English language skills; additional languages are a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, urban design, graphic design, planning, communications, or equivalent is strongly recommended
  • 1-3 years’ experience with business development;
