Cox, Kliewer & Company, P.C. is seeking a Production Architect to be located in our Virginia Beach office. Our architects come from all over - Virginia Tech, University of VA, Hampton University, UNC Charlotte and Ball State. As a Production Architect in our open studio environment, you will be responsible for developing, modifying and reviewing production drawings and construction documents. You will also be responsible for the correction and updates of documents as required; develop creative solutions to technical problems.

Provide hands on supervision to the Architectural staff; during a portion of a project. In conjunction with the Senior Project Manager, may be responsible for keeping a phase of a project on schedule.

SKILL, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE – Licensure highly preferred; Degree from an NAAB -accredited program; if not licensed, must be obtainable in the very near future.

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Architecture industry.(max 8 years)
  • Multi-Family Residential / Mixed Use experience a plus.
  • Exceptional computer, REVIT, AutoCAD, Sketchup skills preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task on several projects.
  • Ability to work efficiently in team environment.
  • Ability to mentor interns.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the coordination aspects and related requirements of all design disciplines.
  • Excellent social, written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational skills.
  • Possess the ability to motivate and mentor staff, and delegate work assignments.
  • Very detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible.
  • Ability to work well with others under deadline situations.
  • Responsible for building system concepts and documentation process for schematics through construction administration phases within the discipline.
  • Prepare and monitor project status reports.
  • Prepare and document required code research for project.
  • Conduct material and product research as required for project development.
  • Attend project meetings as necessary.
  • Interface with other discipline team leaders.
  • Document interpretation and submittal reviews during bidding and construction administration.
  • Monitor staff to produce quality architectural and engineering services within a project team concept.

Candidate selection will be based on your resume and portfolio. Compensation will be based on skills and experience. Design experience a plus.
