VDC Coordinator

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

General

  • Support project pursuit and/or preconstruction efforts with virtual modeling, visualization and/or integration of Revit, 3DS Max (or other equivalent) models.
  • Converting simple 2D sketches into 3D models and images.
  • Work with outside architects, consultants, and sub-contractors on modeling and visualization.
  • Assist PMG project teams with clash detection on projects as required.
  • Assist PMG project teams to produce 3D images of construction logistics as required.
  • Assist in development of marketing materials that articulate PMG VDC capabilities for inclusion in RFP responses to potential clients.
  • Practical implementation of BIM for Clash Detection and Project Coordination and project visualization
  • Assist VDC Coordinator II in the development and implementation of various levels of training curriculum for internal staff, as required.
  • Stay abreast of industry advancement in BIM/VDC, including, but not limited to, software applications.
  • Participate in and/or support client presentations.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications.

Minimum of 3 years of experience

  • Experience in modeling (Revit and 3DS Max), rendering (VRay), understanding of construction concepts
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Products
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk products and VRay
  • Basic knowledge of AutoCad
  • Basic understanding of phasing and construction logistics
  • Experience converting simple 2D sketches into 3D models and images
  • Developing 3D models/CAD at CM/GC or MEP subcontractor
  • Experience with NavisWorks and working with teams for clash detection
  • Good person-to-person skills and the ability to work well in a team environment
  • Must have actively participated in the development of models for the visualization and coordination of construction projects
  • Self-starter
  • Possesses the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ideal Education: Bachelor’s in architecture or engineering
