Who We're Hiring

Architect with 5 to 10 years’ experience in architectural design, producing and detailing architectural drawings, preparing other architectural and construction-related drawings, documents and files.

Who We Are

Urban Architecture LLC, an architectural & civil engineering firm in Jersey City, NJ, working in-house with Manhattan Building Company (MBC), a leading area developer/builder with 35 year track record.

Urban & MBC are developing mid / high rise luxury, steel & concrete, residential / mixed use projects with upgraded roads, sidewalks, streetscapes, parks in an historic Jersey City neighborhood—with more projects already ‘on the boards’.

Requirements

--Must live in or reasonable commute to our offices in Jersey City, NJ.

--5 to 8 years’ hands-on architectural design and detailing experience, at least some of which has been on mid/high rise flat-plate, poured-in-place concrete projects, working on architectural & construction drawings, floor plans, layouts, wall elevations, schedules, shop and coordination drawings, etc.

--Bachelor’s degree from an accredited, degreed architectural program; U.S. based program a ‘plus’.

--At least several years of full time employment on projects in the U.S., familiarity with U.S. building and accessibility standards and codes and MEP / FP trades and coordination knowledge; New Jersey standards & codes and trades knowledge a ‘plus’.

--Strong AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe proficiency; 3D modeling software experience an extra “plus”.

--Friendly personality; organized; calm under tight deadlines; prefers working with / assisting others rather than working alone; strong written communication skills.

--Candidates invited to interview will bring samples of varied drawings and documents prepared by candidate him/herself, some from one or more steel and concrete mid/high rise project(s).
