We are excited to be growing our accessibility planning team and are seeking a motivated, experienced accessibility professional for a new Senior Project Manager position in our Berkeley office.

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will work on ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plans, ADA implementation planning, facility evaluations and reports, training for agency staff, and writing policy recommendations. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage projects and project teams
  • Assist with QA/QC of plans and reports
  • Facilitate meetings with clients and the public
  • Oversee production work including mapping, visualization, and graphics production; community engagement; and other efforts for public and private sector clients
  • Growing a legacy practice: active participation in marketing and business development opportunities, and develop and maintain potential client and partner relationships

This is a full-time position. Some travel, evening, and weekend work will be required for community engagement efforts, site evaluations, and deadline-driven work.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the desire for professional growth and the ability to: think critically and creatively; pay keen attention to detail; work as part of a collaborative and diverse teams and clients in an open, fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality work products; and maintain a sense of humor. Candidates must demonstrate independent judgment and an ability to make decisions and manage multiple priorities and people. Preference will be given to candidates who have a demonstrated professional background focused on ADA title II self-evaluation and transition plans, and a passion to work with a creative and driven team dedicated to creating accessible and inclusive communities.

  • Master’s degree in urban design, architecture, engineering, planning, or law and legal studies
  • 5+ years of experience in accessibility planning, policy, design, and community engagement
  • Experience in the fields of architecture, planning, engineering, or landscape architecture
  • Experience with public agencies, design skills, and/or bilingual capabilities is preferred
  • CASp and/or ADAC certification is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro
  • Desired software skills: GIS, Adobe Creative Suite, familiarity with database applications and asset management tools
