Huitt-Zollars' Glendale, CA office has an immediate full-time Architectural Job Captain opportunity. This role provides architectural design on entertainment theme park projects from inception to completion in a fast-paced collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be able to easily take a project from inception in Rhino and simultaneously model in REVIT. They are adept at visualizing in 3D and clearly conveying designs to other project team members and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with project team in the design and development of theme park projects.
  • Prepare designs for theme park projects from inception in Rhino and simultaneously model in REVIT.
  • Present and model at meetings using Rhino, Revit, Navisworks or BIM 360 Glue.
  • Manage meeting notes and coordination of consultant teams.
  • Ensures adherence to project schedules, billing, and technical design specification
  • Visit project sites under the direction of a supervisor and assist with the documentation of findings.
  • Research materials, assemblies, or building codes for appropriate incorporation into design and construction drawings as directed by a supervisor.
  • Integrate information from consultants and suppliers into Revit Models for documentation
  • Assist in the processing of contractor submittals and RFIs by logging in the documents and routing them to the appropriate party for review.
  • Assist or prepare graphic materials for presentation or documents
  • Select and prepare material finish boards/binders
  • Light travel to construction job sites and client meetings if needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience
  • Bachelors' Degree in Architecture
  • Proficient in Rhino, REVIT, Navisworks, BIM 360 Glue
  • Ability to model in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Solid design skills and knowledge of architectural detailing
  • Previous theme park experience a plus
