We are currently seeking an ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER/DRAFTER or JOB CAPTAIN to join our Neighborhood Residential team in our IRVINE, CA office. The position is commensurate with candidate’s experience.  

SUMMARY: This position is responsible for developing design or technical solutions under general supervision. Working hand-in-hand with our Project Managers and Architects, they will direct, coordinate and oversee production of project design and/or construction documents. This candidate may be responsible for a major project or several small projects, and will be on track to become a Job Captain.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND BACKGROUND:

  • Graduate of a NAAB accredited 4 or 5 year architecture school
  • 3+ years’ experience in the production of Neighborhood Residential projects
  • Self-motivated; ability to work independently and in a team environment to coordinate with other design professionals
  • Strong verbal and graphic communication, organizational and collaborative skills
  • Strong skills and talent in SketchUp modeling, AutoCAD, Adobe Design Suite
  • Strong graphic and verbal communication skills
  • Willingness to work on a variety of building typologies and architectural styles; mostly townhomes and single family detached
  • Strong skills in the production and management of construction drawings, start to finish
  • Experience working in construction phases of projects with owners and general contractors 
  • Excellent problem solver and independent thinker with good listening skills and strong follow-through. A collaborative, team player
  • Revit/BIM experience preferred
  • Commitment to their own professional growth; preferably to obtaining licensure as an architect
