We are currently seeking a Project Accountant to join our San Francisco Studio.

Position Overview:

The Project Accountant is a key support role for the office. This is a great role for an individual who is looking to go beyond back office accounting and get involved with a creative group of Project Managers and Principals. This candidate will be the financial liaison between the architectural studio and corporate accounting.  It requires comfort with financial information including budgets, costs, and revenue. A successful candidate will be able to translate financial terms to non-financial personnel.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with billing manager to manage monthly client billing process

  • Organize and maintain data in Deltek Vision

  • Work with Project Manager’s on Resource planning within Deltek Vision

  • Report on project performance monthly

  • Prepare project invoices (billing to clients) and work on deadlines for revenue cycle

  • Liaise with architectural studio staff to improve studio understanding of financial terminology and outcomes

  • Manage outstanding accounts receivable

  • Assist in subcontractor accounts payable functions

  • Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies

  • Work with Project Managers to maintain project budgets

  • Distribute preliminary project progress reports for distribution to Project Managers monthly

  • Update accounting software system based on project manager draft invoices

  • Help others to meet deadlines

  • Accounting ambassador

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Deltek Vision software, G-Suite

  • Ability to communicate and work with accounting team in a different state

  • Associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or Finance related field

  • 5+ years work experience

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, especially as they relate to a billable hours industry

  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute toward organizational goals with minimal supervision
