We are a multi-disciplinary architectural office with a vision to produce comprehensive, sensitive, and state-of- the art architecture.  We focus on hospitals, medical office buildings, outpatient facilities, surgery centers, diagnostic and imaging facilities and many other services that make up the healthcare industry. For thirty years Pomarico Design Studio Architecture PLLC (pds) has provided full Architectural and Interior Design services on a wide range of healthcare projects. Our experience in healthcare architecture is the by-product of extensive hands-on planning, design and administrative activities involving additions to and the modernization of many major metropolitan medical centers.

We are currently seeking an assistant project manager to join our team in New York's lower Hudson Valley, located just 60 miles north of NYC.

Position Description

The role of the assistant project manager will be dependent upon the needs of individual projects.   As part of a project team, this position assists in managing multiple small to mid-sized projects, coordinates all aspects of assigned projects, and estimates scope of work. The assistant project manager supports the project lead or senior project manager and client in planning through construction administration. 

Essential Job Functions

  • Surveys existing conditions.   Basic outline of program will be established to provide guidance on design of space during schematic design. 
  • Assists lead or Senior PM to determine requirements for client’s new construction or renovation.
  • Performs code reviews for compliance or recommendations to bring project into compliance.
  • Prepares information regarding design, specifications, estimated costs, and construction schedule.
  • Prepares drawings and contract specifications, and submits these for bids.
  • Oversees actual construction and completion of project with client.
  • Assists in the process and organization of how construction documents are structured.

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of architectural experience
  • Licensure is preferred but not required
  • BArch from an accredited program is preferred
  • Strong Construction Document experience (healthcare experience is a plus)
  • Excellent communication skills to facilitate project completion
  • Fluent in Guidelines for Design and Construction for Health Care Facilities, NFPA 101, and ANSI manual
  • Ability to research and recommend equipment selections if needed for client
  • Creative thinking
  • Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, Adobe, MAC
  • Candidate must have a valid Drivers License and their own vehicle
