Nystrom Design is a residential interior design firm, looking for an experienced Interior Designer who thrives during all phases of the design and construction process, and who shares our pride in delivering excellent service and beautiful results to our clients throughout San Francisco and the Bay Area.  Our projects range from furnishings and décor to architectural upgrades for full-home renovations, and we are excited to meet the next member of our team who will help bring the design vision to life.   

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day communication with clients, design team, vendors, tradespeople, and builders
  • Develop design vision and ensure that it is carried forward through all phases of the project
  • Provide direction to Junior Designers on drafting and sourcing tasks, oversee production progress, and monitor quality of deliverables
  • Create and manage project budgets and schedules
  • Anticipate project requirements and ensure that team members are well-informed
  • Improve upon office CAD standards and help implement efficiencies

Requirements

  • 4-8 years experience in an interior design or architectural firm
  • A college-level degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Ability to produce design, bid, and construction drawings for custom kitchen and bath renovations
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Office.  Familiar with Google Drive and Dropbox
  • Experience communicating and coordinating with architects, builders, and tradespeople
  • Ability to formulate and express a creative and thoughtful design perspective
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing the construction phase of projects
  • Expertise in industry resources for furnishings, fixtures, and finishes
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Proven strength in written and verbal communication
  • Must emanate a positive attitude, professionalism, and courtesy
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work, take initiative, and work independently
  • Must have the ability to transport oneself to job sites throughout the Bay Area

Experience with the following is an asset:

  • 3D computer modeling skills
  • Established relationships with local industry vendors and tradespeople
  • Experience with Studio Designer
